Finding the Light: Dance at Pleasant Home & Mills Park

And… we’re back! Yup, we’re performing live (outdoors, with masks, and social distancing), as we present: Finding the Light. We’re looking for the light, too!

Details: Finding the Light Sunday, May 16 at 4:00pm Pleasant Home, 217 S. Home Ave., Oak Park, IL Tickets: $30 Buy tickets here

This amazing event will feature short works by nine artists, including Elysia Banks, Irene Hsiao, Amanda Milligan, Jacinda Ratcliffe, Vernon Gooden, Crystal Gurrola, Quint Lattimore, Summer Smith, and Winifred Haun.

Finding the Light will feature an excerpt from Promise, Ms. Haun’s 2009 acclaimed group work; Lady, a solo for a dancer and a dozen balloons, created and performed by WH&D Assistant Choreographer Amanda Milligan; Disquiet, a solo choreographed by Elysia Banks for Banks Performance Project Company dancer, Natalie Dellutri; and a new solo created and performed by Irene Hsiao.

As we said, the entire event will be outdoors. Audience members will be split into groups of 20. Each group will visit five “stations” set up around Pleasant Home and Mills Park (the grounds surrounding Pleasant Home). The event will conclude with a group work presented in the garden in the front of Pleasant Home, with audience members seated in a socially distanced fashion. Audience members and performers will wear masks at all times, and maintain a social distance of 8-10 feet from each other.

The entire event is a little over an hour. There is street parking available near Pleasant Home.
