I am (not) this body explores how we view “different” bodies (the bodies of women, children and people of color), and how those bodies and the humans inside them seem to be invisible or to have less value. I am (not) this body premiered last November at the Studebaker Theater.
We’re so excited about out 7th annual Spring Open Rehearsal on March 31! It will be at Hubbard St. Dance Center and it will showcase the latest works made by Company artists: Solomon Bowser, Winifred Haun, Ariel Dorsey, Amanda Milligan, and Summer Smith. This event will also include a discussion about each artist’s dance making process and attendees will have a chance to respond, comment and give feedback on the new works.

We’ll be in residence for two weeks at the Mansion creating five works-in-progress. Each work will be designed especially for the prairie style spaces of Pleasant Home.
Artists presenting work include Artistic Director Winifred Haun, Assistant Artistic Director Solomon Bower, Assistant Choreographers Ariel Dorsey and Summer Smith, and Company Dancer Amanda Milligan. The Company will also present “Bento,” a group work from 2011 and audience favorite.
