Winifred Haun & Dancers will perform as part of Oak Park’s 10th annual Handel Week on Saturday, February 21 at Grace Church in Oak Park. The Company will present an original work choreographed by Winifred Haun to Handel’s “Water Music.” Using over 50 yards of dyed silk fabric, the dancers will perform in and around the unique space of Grace Church to one of Handel’s most beloved compositions. Winifred Haun & Dancers was commissioned to create and perform a new work to “Water Music” by Handel Week’s artistic director and founder, Dennis Northway. Handel Week is the only organization in the Chicago area dedicated to George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) and was conceived a decade ago by its founders as the western suburbs’ answer to the highly successful Bach Week Festival in Evanston.

Winifred Haun & Dancers can be seen as part of Handel Week on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 7:30pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 924 Lake St., in Oak Park. Free parking is available in the lot next to Grace Church. Grace Church is near the Oak Park Ave stop on the CTA green line. Individual tickets are $30. Young people ages 8 to 18 are admitted free of charge.

next installment of “Promise” to premiere Oct 2008

Winifred Haun & Dancers will present a new duet, “Promise, part 4” as part of Circle in the Square: New Works in Dance Theatre on October 11 and 12 at Voice of the City studio. This new duet is a continuation of Ms. Haun’s research and exploration of the themes and women in John Steinbeck’s novel “East of Eden.”

Featuring Company members Lindsey Frattare and Grace Whitworth, “Promise, part 4” is a series of solos telling the stories of the two matriarchs of the East of Eden, Cathy, mother of Cain and Abel, and Liza, John Steinbeck’s grandmother. “Promise, part 4” features the music of Jolie Holland, and George Crumb.

“Promise, part 4” can be seen as part of Circle in the Square: New Works in Dance Theatre on Saturday, October 11 at 7:30pm and Sunday, October 12 at 3:00pm at Voice of the City studio, 3429 W. Diversey in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. Tickets are $12/general admission, $10/students and seniors. Group rates are available. For reservations dial 773.782.9471.

new work to premiere at Cheney Mansion April 2008

Winifred Haun will premiere a new quintet as part of Circle in the Square: New Works in Dance Theatre at the Cheney Mansion, April 11 thru 13, 2008.

The new work is titled “Children of Cain,” and features a solo for aerialist and dancer, Erika Gilfether. DePotenzsell good Sildenafil pills at hte best price in Germany.
